After many years as a barista and shop manager, Hernan Lopez followed his passion for sustainably sourced and carefully crafted coffee by opening Alias Coffee (Roasters) in 2020. The business initially started as a micro batch roasting company offering high quality espresso-based pop-up events in Troy, New York. 

Alias Coffee was added to the year-round line-up of Troy Farmer’s Market vendors in Monument Square and Atrium. Which led to serving the downtown Troy community 7 days a week through collaborative partnership with other local businesses.

In 2022 the pop-up shop moved to Alias Coffee’s first brick and mortar location at 219 4th Street, Troy, New York. A second location follows a year later at 76 North Pearl Street, Albany, New York. Alias Coffee continues to provide small batch roasted beans and can be found at the Troy Farmer’s Market every Saturday.
